Van Flandern's thoughts on what happened to Nibiru

In 1981, with the data from Pioneer 10 and Pioneer 11 and from the two Voyagers on Jupiter and Saturn in hand, Van Flandern and four colleagues at the U.S. Naval Observatory restudied these planets' orbits as well as those of the outer planets. Addressing the American Astronomical Society, Van Flandern presented new evidence, based on complex gravitational equations, that a body at least twice the size of Earth orbits the Sun at a distance of at least 1.5 billion miles beyond Pluto, with an orbital period of at least 1,000 years.

The search for Planet x was then joined by NASA, primarily under the direction of John D Anderson of JPL, then the celestial-mechanics experimenter for the Pioneers. In a statement issued from its Ames Research Center on June 17, 1982, and headlined "Pioneers May Find Tenth Planet" NASA disclosed that the two spacecraft had been enlisted in the search for Planet X. "Persistent irregularities in the orbits of Uranus and Neptune strongly suggest that some kind of mystery object is really there - far beyond the outermost planets." the NASA statement said. Because the Pioneers were traveling in opposite directions, they would be able to determine how far away that body is: if one of them sensed a stronger pull, the mystery body is near and must be a planet; if both sensed the same pull, the body must be between 50 and 100 billion miles away and might be a "dark star" or "brown dwarf", but not another member of the Solar System.

In September of that year, 1982, the U.S. Naval Observatory confirmed that it was "seriously pursuing" the search for Planet X. Dr. Harington said his team has "narrowed themselves to a fairly small portion of the sky." and added that the conclusion by then was that the planet "was moving much more slowly than any of the planets that we now know."

It is known that on various secret missions of the U.S. space shuttles, new telescopic devices for scanning the distant skies were employed, and that Soviet cosmonauts aboard the Salyut space station were equally engaged in secret searches for the planet.

Among the myriad dots of light in the heavens, planets (as well as comets and asteroids) are distinguished from fixed stars and galaxies because they move. The technique it to take photographs of the same portion of the sky several times and then "blink the photos on a comparing viewer; to the trains eye, this reveals whether some point of light has moved.

In 1983, IRAS, a heat sensing satelite was launched. It took more than 600,000 images in its 10 months of operation. It discovered several moving objects. These included five previously known comets, several comets that astronomers had 'lost', four new asteroids - and "an enigmatic comet-like object.".

In spite of official denials, a disclosure did leak out at the end of the year. The story was majorly ignored by the media, but Thomas O'Toole of the Washington Post Science Editor carried the story, "Giant Object Mystifies Astronomers.". It was also called, "Mystery Body Found in Space", and "At Solar System's Edge Giant Object is a Mystery." He stated in his article that the mystery object was found in the direction of the constellation Orion and is about the size of Neptune.

With an orbit that emulates that of Halley's comet, planet X spends part of its time above the ecliptic (in the northern skies) and most below it (in the southern skies) Increasingly, the U.S. Naval Observatory team decided that the search for Planet X at present should focus on the southern hemisphere. at a distance about 2.5 times farther away than Neptune and Pluto are now.

Sumerian astronomy envisaged the heavens surrounding Earth as divided into three bands or "Ways". The central band was the "Way of Anu" ruler of Nibiru, and it extended from 30 degrees north to 30 degrees south. Above it was "The way of Enlil", and below it, "The Way of EA/Enki". That made no sense to modern astronomers studying the Sumerian texts.

But this text explains where Nibiru is:

Planet Marduk
Upon its appearance: Mercury.
Rising 30 degrees of the celestial arc: Jupiter.
When standing in the place of the celestial battle:
Nibiru

These instructions for observing the incoming planet clearly refer to its progression from an alignment with Mercury to an alignment with Jupiter by rising 30 degrees. This could happen only if the orbit of Nibiru/Marduk is inclined 30 degrees to the ecliptic. Appearing 30 degrees above the ecliptic and disappearing (to a viewer in Mesopotamia) 30 degrees below it, creates the "Way of Anu", which forms a band extending 30 degrees above and below the equator.

The thirtieth parallel north, was a "sacred" line along which the spaceport in the Sinai peninsula, the great pyramids of Giza, ad the gaze of the Sphinx were located. It seems plausible that the alignment had to do with Nibiru's position, 30 degrees in the northern skies, as it reached the perihelion in its orbit. By concluding that the inclination of Planet X might be as high as 30 degrees, modern astronomers corroborate Sumerian astronomical data.

In that same declination, the planet is orbiting toward us from the southeast, the direction of the constellation Centaurus. Nowadays we see there the zodiac constellation Libra; but in Babylonian/biblical times that was the place of Sagittarius.

The incoming planet as it curves around Jupiter will arrive at the place of the Celestial Battle in the asteroid belt, the "Place of Crossing" (and hence the name Nibiru).

When from the station of Jupiter
the planet passes toward the west,
there will be a time of dwelling in security...
When from the station of Jupiter
the Planet increases in brilliance
and in the Zodiac of Cancer will become Nibiru,
Akkad will overflow with plenty.

It can be simply illustrated that when the planet's perihelion was in Cancer, its first appearance had to be from the direction of Sagittarius. In this regard it is pertinent to quote the biblical verses from the Book of Job that describe the appearance of the Celestial Lord and its return to its distant abode:

Alone He stretches out the heavens
and treads upon the farthest Deep.
He arrives at the Great Bear, Orion and Sirius
and the constellations of the south ...

He smiles his face upon Taurus and Aries;

From Taurus to Sagittarius He shall go.

It is not just an arrival from the southeast (and the return thereto) but also a description of a retrograde orbit.

Planet Eris and the global warming

The real cause of climate changes, volcanoes activity, intensification of the seismic activity etc., is the planet Eris’s getting closer to our solar system, intermediary named 2003-UB-313 and known in Antiquity under various names as: Nibiru, Marduk, Nemesis, Hercolubus, The Gods Planet, the Planet of the Empire, the Planet of the Cross, the Red Planet, etc.



A short record of the first (recent) contacts with Eris:

- First observed on October 21, 2003 using the 1,22m Oschin telescope, at Mount Palomar Observatory (California).

- Discovered by Michael E. Broen, Chad Trujillo, David L. Rabinovitz, on January 5, 2005, based on the photos taken at the above mentioned date.

- Further observations published in October 2005 have shown a satellite named Dysomnia (Gabriel).



The planet Eris/ Nibiru periodically getting closer to Earth once in 3600 years generates numerous climate changes, one being the global warming with its natural consequence – the melting of the glaciers. The effect of glaciers melting, because of their sweet water, will be the ending of the thermo-saline natural system, the “engine” that allows the Gulfstream circulation to the North and the freezing of spread areas in the North-West of Europe and North-East U.S.A.

In short, here is the process that took place during the last two periods in which the Gods planet has passed between Mars and Jupiter, the nearest point to Earth:

- 7200 years ago, during the cataclysm known as “Noah’s flood”,

sudden changes in temperature, violent storms and water avalanches from Antarctica broke off from their “ice prison”. Dr. John T. Hollin at Maine University (U.S.A.) considers that large pieces periodically came out of the Antarctic ice field creating a huge tide! (Zecharia Sitchin, The Twelfth Planet, Aldopress, Bucharest).

- 3600 years ago, during the Jews’ Exodus from Egypt in the middle of the second millennium b. c., the Earth suffered big cataclysms. “A celestial body that recently entered our solar system – a new comet – came very close to Earth (causing – A/N) the eventual disappearance of the glacier layer” (Immanuel Velikovsky, “Worlds in Collision”, Lucman, Bucharest).

The current situation – the Poles glaciers’ melting is accelerating.

The climate and geological changes will be increased because the planet Eris/ Nibiru hasn’t even been close to Pluto, its nearest point to Earth is supposed to happen between 2010 and 2012.

At present identical phenomena (global warming, volcanoes activation, etc.) also take place on other planets from our solar system because of Eris/ Nibiru. Few examples:

- The Neptune’s moon, Triton is warming (BBC Science & Technology News, July 25, 1999).

- Pluto experiences an extraordinary heating (Massachusetts Institute of Technology News, October 9, 2002).

- Volcanic eruption on Jupiter’s satellite Io (Icarus Astronomy, November 2002)

- The warming of Mars (ABC News, December 7, 2002).

- The warming of Saturn (January 28, 2007, www.interstars.net):

scientists of the UCLA (University of California, Los Angeles) – physics and astronomy department and those at the University of Boston have noticed that the temperature of the superior atmosphere of Saturn is higher that estimated. Thus, professor Alan Aylward at UCLA considers necessary the reexamination of the main hypotheses regarding the planetary atmosphere and establishing the cause of the respective heating. He also noticed a similar process on Mars, concluding: „Studying the aspects within other planetary atmospheres will help us to find out clues of the Terra’s future.”

On the Internet (google) for Nibiru there are 586.000 references, for UB 313 – 1.130.000 references and for Eris – 3.970.000. A short video (4-5 minutes) on the above statements is available at: Leweb2zero-tv-nibiru.html

The books already mentioned also include various other descriptions of severe phenomena as volcanoes activation, increasing seismic activity, terrible hurricanes, huge tides, Poles reversal, etc., that happened 7200 years ago, respectively 3600 years ago, all of them being processes more and more frequent at present on Earth.

Few additional arguments that Eris is Nibiru:

- The number of its satellites. Zecharia Sitchin said on them in the above-mentioned work: “Four satellites… they had a rapid rotation movement… swirling like twirls… three other satellites – The Mad Wind, The Twirling Wind and the Sovereign Wind… using their satellites as assault chariots, he (Nibiru – A/N) sent ahead the winds… the all seven winds… ready to fight.”

On Google, the search “transneptunian object wikipedia” shows seven other celestial bodies, except Pluto and Eris, most of them discovered by M. Brown, C. Trujillo, D. Rabinowitz.

Their approximate dimensions are:

Eris: 2400 km

Santa (2003 EL 61): 1800 km

2005 Fy 9: 1800 km

Sedna: 1800 km

Orcus: 1800 km

Quaoar: 1200 km

Ixion: 1000 km

Varuna: 1000 km



The Sumerian writings say that a satellite of the Nibiru planet hit another planet, Tiamat, creating the “Sky” (the asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter) and the Earth in the beginning of our solar system. Professor M. Brown has recently demonstrated in the journal “Nature” that the planet 2003 EL 61 suffered a terrible collision with another celestial body in the beginning of our solar system. In the following lines I will highlight the connection between Eris (its intermediary name was 2003-UB-313) and the Antiquity writings, where the planet was frequently named Nibiru:

- In 2003, the year it was first observed (official communication), the „Science et Vie” magazine (February) presented the elliptical trajectory of another planet in our solar system, IDENTICAL with the trajectory of the Nibiru/ Marduk planet previously presented by Z. Sitchin.

- In 2005, several months after being discovered, distinguished astronomers from 19 countries reunited at the Vatican Astronomical Center connected through the Internet with the Astronomical Center on the Mount Tucson (Arizona, U.S.A.) – one of the most powerful in the world.

On August 1, 2005 newspapers from around the world wrote: “The celestial body was given the temporary name 2003-UB-313.” Scientists that gave this name to the Nibiru planet were very much aware of the Sumerian writings, as “UB” meant the 7 planets group (3+1+3=313=7), formed of: Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, Pluto and Nibiru. The other group was formed of the remaining 5 planets (2+0+0+3=2003=5), meaning: the Sun, Mercury, Venus, the Earth and the Moon. Neither „12” was not a coincidence - the total of the numbers in the intermediary name. The Sumerians knew 12 celestial bodies! The same way Z. Sitchin wrote in „The Twelfth Planet” that the „UB is formed of seven parts, named in the Acadian language ‚giparu’ – the night shelter...”. There is no doubt that this is the origin of the ancients’ faith in the „seven skies”.

- The Eris’s area, 2400 km ± 97 km measured using images from the Hubble telescope, was made public at the end of April 2006.

In my book “The Bible and the UFOs” (SITI, Bucharest, 1991) based on the data from the Apocalypse/ Revelation, I had given the dimension of a possible planetary station: it was 2400 km. The last book of the Bible contains details on the Eris planet (chapter 21:2, 12, 16) called the NEW JERUSALEM (ERIS-SALEM), together with its diameter and area:

a) diameter: 12.000 x 200m (1 stadium) = 2400 km

b) area: 2400 km (length) x 2400 km (width) x 12 (levels or floors) = 69.120.000 km2

The ancient writings also stated the comet-like aspect (comet provoking great disasters) of Eris/ Nibiru, most probably caused by one of its satellites:

1. The ancients:

a) The Sumerian writings, 7200 years ago: “A planet moving very fast, on an elliptical orbit, similar to a comet” (Z. Sitchin, The Twelfth Planet)

b) His brightness (Yahweh/ Anu, the Leader of the Gods planet – A/N) is like the sunshine, a burning flame following His steps” (Habacuc 3: 4-5)

c) 3600 years ago: „A comet... came very close to Earth in the middle of the second millenium b.c.” (I. Velikovsky, “Worlds in collision”, Lucman, Bucharest).

The current situation:

a) Professor M. Brown (details also on www.interstars.net, 21.01.2007) has declared that the planet 2003-EL-61 can undergo the attraction of Neptune, transforming itself into the brightest comet ever seen, at least 6000 times brighter than the comet Hale Bopp.

b) Eris is expected to pass between Mars and Jupiter its nearest point to Earth during 2010-2012. This is the main reason why NASA will launch the Dawn spacecraft on June 20, 2007, which will arrive at its destination, the asteroids belt, in 2011.

In the end the logical explanation of the warming process on Earth and on the other planets in our solar system proves to be the one provided by I. Velikovsky, in his book from 1950: “Two celestial bodies have been attracted one to each other. The inner masses of the Earth were pushed to the periphery. The Earth, with its rotation movement disturbed, started to warm.”
